As reported by MinnesotaBoxing.com, former Upper Midwest Golden Gloves Junior Welterweight Champion and accomplished professional welterweight, Wayne Martell, 24-3 of North Dakota, returns to the ring after nearly eight years absence tonight in North Dakota against Minnesota’s Hector Orozco. Although Orozco, 4-10, has recently shown determination and skill and pulled off some upsets, he is not of Martell’s caliber. Martell’s biggest wins have been against legendary former world champions Meldrick Taylor and Livingstone Bramble. I fought Martell as an amateur in 1992 and was a St. Paul Golden Gloves teammate with him during the Upper Midwest tournament in 1994. I can testify to his skill and determination and I insist that unless he is in terrible shape he will not lose this fight.
