Hall of Fame Boxing announcer Al Bernstein honors Youth Program in Sand Diego, CA

Long time boxing announcer, recent International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, and lead announcer for Showtime boxing broadcasts Al Bernstein is scheduled to visit the Any Body Can (ABC) boxing gym in San Diego, CA today.  A youth program founded by the late Archie Moore, the legendary former light heavyweight champion who until recently was the oldest light heavyweight champion in history, is run by Moore’s son, Billy. It is the only gym in San Diego with its own library and learning center for underprivileged children and teens.

“I am so happy to be able to come back to San Diego and again lend support to the Anybody Can Foundation,”   Bernstein told press.  “The work that Archie Moore started and his son Billy and great ABC Board continue is very special.  So many youngsters have received life changing help from the ABC Foundation, and many more will in the future”.

Mr. Bernstein’s newest book includes anecdotes about Archie Moore and other boxing luminaries. The book, “30 Years, 30 Undeniable Truths about Boxing, Sports and TV”, gives readers a unique and entertaining view on the history of sports broadcasting and reflects on the past, present and future of boxing.
